We’re a partner on your journey to health.

What’s different about us? It’s not just what we do, it’s who we are. We partner with individuals and their families to overcome the challenges of living with complex physical and mental health conditions.

If there’s a wall, we’ll find a ladder together.

Our Services

Psychiatry and Medication Services

Have a question about your treatment or medication? PIR medical practitioners deliver high-touch diagnostic, evaluation and medication education services designed to support your mental health and well-being.

Case Management

Need services but don’t know where to start? PIR case managers are trained system navigators and advocates whose primary job is to assist you in identifying your goals and choosing the services and supports that will help you achieve them. Your case manager is also there for you in the hard times, with a listening ear and a comforting smile to ease your way through any short-term crisis or urgent situation.

Peer and Family Support Program

Feel like no one understands what you are going through? Or just have questions about your own or a loved one’s care? Our Peer and Family Support Programs are provided by trained professionals with their own personal experience of recovery or helping a family member in their journey to overcome mental health, substance use, and/or trauma conditions. PIR peer/family staff offer practical advice, a listening ear and are the living evidence that RECOVERY is a FACT and is POSSIBLE.

Integrated Primary Care Services

PIR connects your physical and behavioral health services to ensure you enjoy the best possible health and well-being. We deliver on-site integrated care teams and coordinate with community PCPs and specialists to provide preventive health screenings and physical exams, flu shots and lifestyle counseling. Our care approach targets the risk factors that cause heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other chronic health conditions.

Counseling Services

PIR offers on-site individual and group counseling services delivered by licensed clinicians using a trauma-informed model of care. If you’re ready to take the next step, we’re here to get you started.

Health & Wellness Services

PIR Health and Wellness programs offer fun and engaging educational and action-oriented services that support positive life changes in diet, fitness, stress and sleep. Our health coach staff are certified in physical fitness, nutrition and Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management to offer services with proven results. From fitness centers and walking groups to cooking classes and yoga, we’ll help you get to where you want to be, one step at a time.

Join a Campus Advisory Council!

Want to use your voice to make a difference at your campus? We want you! Each PIR campus has an Advisory Council (CAC) operated by people receiving services and their families. The CAC’s mission is to build an open communication forum between the members, family members, community stakeholders and campus staff. It’s a place to bring issues and successes to the forefront by promoting collaboration, sharing of ideas and collective learning. Contact your campus for more information.

Evidence-Based Practice Programs

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

ACT teams are a high-contact, highly integrated mental health delivery model backed by a 40-year body of research into ACT’s effectiveness in facilitating community living and preventing homelessness, incarceration and hospitalization. A team of ACT specialists and medical staff provide round-the-clock response to urgent situations and changing member needs. PIR offers the only Medical ACT Team in Maricopa County for persons with significant medical conditions who also meet the psychiatric criteria for ACT.

Integrated Dual Disorder Substance Abuse Treatment

Our SPECTRUM substance abuse program combines mental health and addiction recovery treatment using an evidence-based model developed by Dartmouth Psychiatric Center and endorsed by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This integrated recovery team will support you and your family to achieve new meaning, purpose, and balance in life.

WRAP & Family WRAP

PIR is the largest provider of Wellness Recovery Action Plan classes in Maricopa County. Developed by and for people with mental health conditions, WRAP classes focus on self-help skills to feel better and stay well. WRAP helps people start – and stay in – recovery. The WRAP Program, developed by recovery pioneer Mary Ellen Copeland, is used around the world by people and families dealing with a variety of health and life challenges.

Work First!

PIR’s Work First! program provides a trained team of Rehab Specialists and job supports to help people get – and keep – a job, and earn a competitive paycheck. We collaborate with the Vocational Rehabilitation Administration and specialty supported employment providers to offer the convenience of multiple employment supports at a single location. Just interested in small steps? We have those too – from socialization groups like bingo and movies to part-time employment options at each PIR campus.
